Background
The City of Karratha reviews its grants, contributions and fee waiver programs to ensure they continue to meet community needs and deliver meaningful outcomes.
As part of this review, community members, previous grant applicants and key stakeholders were invited to share their experiences with the City's funding programs. Feedback gathered through targeted engagement, together with an independent review, informed the development of the Draft Grants & Contributions Policy.
The policy aims to provide a clear and consistent framework for how funding opportunities are delivered across the City.
Targeted feedback sessions were held in October 2025 to better understand community experiences, identify opportunities for improvement and inform the development of the Draft Grants & Contributions Policy.
The Draft Grants & Contributions Policy was subsequently released for public comment, with six submissions received during the feedback period. These submissions will be reviewed and considered before the policy is presented to Council for endorsement.
