What is the Point Samson Advisory Group (PSAG)?
The Point Samson Advisory Group (PSAG) was established in September 2024 to improve collaboration between the City of Karratha and Point Samson residents. Its purpose is to provide a forum for meaningful discussions about upcoming projects and initiatives that affect the coastal town.
PSAG is not a decision-making body instead it serves as an information-sharing forum where members receive updates and are expected to share relevant information to the Point Samson community.
As a commitment to ensuring the group remains diverse, an Expression of Interest (EOI) has been opened to all Point Samson residents and businesses.
The EOI will remain open from 8am on Monday, 16 February 2026 until 5pm on Wednesday, 4 March 2026.
Should you wish to join, please submit your EOI using the feedback tool on the right side of this page.
As per the group’s Terms of Reference, the Advisory Group aims to:
- Improve communication between residents, businesses, tourists, and the City of Karratha.
- Focus on community projects that address local needs.
- Provide a platform for feedback on local projects.
- Offer community and business insights for current and future projects.
- Discuss budgets and priorities to ensure alignment with local needs.
- Help the City of Karratha understand and advocate for community priorities.
The PSAG meets quarterly and meetings usually last between an hour and an hour and a half.
Yes, you may have received an EOI in August 2024 for the Point Samson Place-Making Group. This was the group’s original name and has since been changed to the Point Samson Advisory Group. The group was established as an action of the Point Samson Interim Plan.
