Bike Facilities in Karratha and Wickham
At the August Ordinary Council Meeting, Council endorsed Richardson Way Park (Option 3) as the preferred site for the Karratha Bike Park, and Location Option One as the preferred site for the Wickham Bike Facility.
These locations were selected based on strong community support during the consultation process, with public feedback playing a key role in shaping the final concept designs.
The endorsed sites will now move into further concept development and cost refinement, in preparation for future design and construction tenders.

Wickham Bike Facility
Construction of the Wickham Bike Facility is expected to begin this financial year, with in-principle funding support from Rio Tinto through the Community Partnership Agreement.
Karratha Bike Park
For the Karratha Bike Park, Council will explore external funding opportunities, with delivery planned in future financial years.
As part of the decision to proceed with a Bike Park at Richardson Way, Council also endorsed the development of a Masterplan for the site to guide the coordinated planning and help create a vibrant, well utilised community space.
The Richardson Way site presents a unique opportunity to transform an underutilised area into a key recreational and community precinct for the City.
