Project Background
The City of Karratha is progressing the next stage of the Kevin Richards Memorial Oval (KRMO) Masterplan, focused on delivering new multi-use hardcourts with a shade structure for the community.
The design is well underway, and this engagement is an opportunity to gather feedback on key elements before finalising the design.
The new facility will provide versatile, shaded courts that support a range of sports and recreational activities, responding to growing demand for accessible and flexible community infrastructure.
This stage (Stage 4) includes:
- New multi-use hardcourts and shade structure
Future stage (Stage 5) will include:
- Realignment of Tilbrook Close (not a through road; access via the carpark)
- Landscaping and green space improvements
- Expansion of the KRMO southern carpark (including EV charging)
These works will improve access, safety and the overall experience of the precinct.
You can share your feedback by answering a few quick questions about your current court usage and your preferred design.
Court usage and line marking requirements will also be informed through targeted engagement with sporting groups and broader work underway, including the Three Sporting Precincts Study (March 2026) and the Karratha Leisureplex Study (September 2025).
At this stage, we’re seeking community input on the overall design.
