We greatly appreciated the input of all 945 community members who shared their vision for the City of Karratha between March and July 2024. Your feedback and ideas played a key role in shaping the Strategic Community Plan which was incorporated into the Council Plan 2025 - 2035 and will guide the City’s projects and services over the next ten years. This new document, endorsed by Council at the June 2025 Ordinary Council Meeting, combines the Strategic Community Plan and the Corporate Business Plan into a single streamlined plan.

Guided by the feedback received from the community, the Strategic Community Plan 2025 – 2035 now includes:

• Guiding commitments underpinning Council's approach to implementing the plan.
• A renewed vision for the City's future, supported by 7 strategic goals.
• Strategic objectives for achieving each goal.
• Key areas of action that are critical for driving progress and realising the vision.
• Measurable indicators and targets to monitor progress over the next ten years.

Now that the Council Plan 2025–2035 is final, the City of Karratha will start putting it into action. Over the next four years, we’ll begin working on the key projects and priorities you helped shape — from improving parks and facilities to supporting local businesses and community programs.

Some plans still need to be developed, like the Reconciliation Action Plan and Early Years Strategy, and these will be created soon. We’ll keep you updated on our progress each year via the City of Karratha's Annual Report, meaning the plan will be reviewed regularly to make sure it stays on track and reflects what matters most to our community.
