Draft Strategic Community Plan 2025-2035 is now Open for Public Comment
We greatly appreciate the input of all 945 community members who shared their vision for our city during March to July 2024. Your feedback and ideas contributed to the development of the Draft Strategic Community Plan 2025-2035. This plan will guide the City's projects and services over the next ten years.
We are now seeking our community's feedback on the drafted plan to ensure we heard everything you said and haven't overlooked anything important to you.
The public comment period is now open and closes 27 April 2025.

What’s Included in the Plan?
Guided by the feedback received from the community, the Draft Strategic Community Plan 2025 – 2035 now includes:
- Guiding commitments underpinning Council's approach to implementing the plan.
- A renewed vision for the City's future, supported by 7 strategic goals.
- Strategic objectives for achieving each goal.
- Key areas of action that are critical for driving progress and realising the vision.
- Measurable indicators and targets to monitor progress over the next ten years.

- Hardcopies of the Draft Strategic Community Plan and paper feedback forms are available at all of our public libraries and Customer Service from 1 April to 27 April:

Next Steps
The City is currently preparing for upcoming reforms to the Local Government Act 1995, introduced by the WA State Government. These changes will require local governments to adopt a streamlined Council Plan, combining the Strategic Community Plan and Corporate Business Plan into a single, cohesive framework. All feedback on the Draft Strategic Community Plan will be summarised and presented to Council at the June 2025 Ordinary Council Meeting.
Any necessary updates to the will be included in a final Council Plan 2025–2035, which will be submitted for Council endorsement in June 2025.
