Planning the three precincts at the same time allows the City to take a coordinated, strategic approach and progress several short-term priorities from the Community Infrastructure Plan 2025-2035, including:

• Additional rectangular fields
• Additional indoor courts and gymnastics space
• Hockey infrastructure
• Exploring alternative uses for under-used beach volleyball courts
• Improvements to Bulgarra Sporting Precinct and Tennis Club

This strategic approach helps ensure public investment is well planned and benefits the whole region.

Community feedback helped shape the Community Infrastructure Plan 2025-2035 and recently identified service and programming improvements at the Karratha Leisureplex.

We are now focusing on how sporting infrastructure can best be delivered across two existing sporting precincts (which includes the Karratha Leisureplex and Bulgarra Sporting Precinct), and a potential third precinct to house playing fields for rectangular sports.

There are 3 stages during the Master Plan development where we really need input from our community facility user groups:

1. Identifying community and user group needs
2. Developing and refining concept designs
3. Reviewing draft Master Plans before they are finalised
